Drapery Street senior designer, Tiffany Needler, collaborated with Wildflower Home Designs and Shine Design Interiors to design custom drapes, shades, and pillows for this baseball-loving family’s newly constructed home, built by Kent Shaffer.

The client wanted a spa-like zen vibe in her ladies’ lounge. Dramatic draperies add to that aesthetic while also providing privacy, light control, and helping with acoustics. Because the inside of the window frames is white and the outside of the window frames is black, we used our black fusion lining. This creates a void, which is better for curb appeal than a high-contrast white lining on dark windows.

In the primary bedroom, we layered roller shades and room-darkening draperies so the homeowners can access soft, filtered light when desired or blackout the light for a midday nap. We added a Roman shade on an exterior door in a coordinating fabric. All the treatments were motorized for ease of use. In the primary bathroom, we added a motorized Pirouette shade behind the tub, which provides daytime privacy while maintaining the views of the wooded backyard.

In the secondary bedrooms, we used a combination of roller shade and draperies for light control and aesthetics. The draperies added the finishing touches and tied all the design elements together.
