Our woven shades are handcrafted from wood, reeds, grasses, and bamboo. 100% Polyester five-ply yarn is used in all shades to minimize stretching, breaking, and fading.

Yes, our woven wood shades are very durable. In fact, the hallmark of every Hunter Douglas Provenance® Woven Shade is the ingenuity that enhances both the performance and the look of the shade.

Each of our woven wood shades is woven with multiple 100% Polyester five-ply yarn to increase the strength of the shade and minimize stretching, breaking, and fading.

Micro reeds are inserted into the grass fabrics to prevent sagging and minimize twisting.

Bamboo is machine pressed to break down fibers and the front and back face of bamboo slats are alternated to reduce cupping and bowing, allowing the shade to hang flat when lowered.

Our shades come in a variety of opacities, from room-darkening to light-filtering. You may opt for an independent liner for light-filtering and room-darkening capabilities in a single treatment.

The independent liner is housed within a single shade’s headrail but operates independently of the shade, making it possible to achieve varying levels of light and privacy throughout the day. Liners can be either duo-color, meaning regardless of the color facing your room, the color facing the street is a neutral white, or mono-color in which the same color fabric is used on both sides.

Our Provenance® Woven Wood Shades uniquely feature a ⅜" cellular honeycomb liner for improved energy efficiency and sound absorption, and is available in light-filtering and room-darkening opacities and five designer hues. What’s more, the liner’s small stack height provides for a sleek, clean look. Available operating systems include UltraGlide and LiteRise.

Yes. This liner option is attached to the fabric and operates with the shade. Attached liners are available in designer hues in both mono (with color to the street) and duo (with neutral to the street); light-filtering and room-darkening opacities.

Our EasyRise™ system allows you to pull on a corded loop to operate your shades.

Our standard cordlock system allows you to raise and lower your shades with a locking cord.

For vertical woven shades, choose from a wand, cord loop, or smart automation.

Absolutely! Draperies can add another layer of functionality and they look beautiful when paired with woven shades.

As a general rule, tall, narrow windows work best with horizontal treatments. Windows that are wider than they are tall and slide from side-to-side work better with vertical treatments.

All of our shades are custom-made to your exact window size. We have multiple woven wood styles in widths ranging from 12" to 192".

On a waterfall Roman shade, the fabric cascades from the front of the headrail, creating a sleek, tailored look. (The fabric lies behind the headrail on a traditional Roman shade).

The functionality is the same on both. It's a matter of style preference. Your DS designer will help you determine which will look best in your space.

We recommend dusting your Provenance® shades regularly with a feather duster. They can be vacuumed for more thorough dust removal with a hand-held vacuum with low suction. Use compressed air or a hair dryer on a cool setting to blow dust and dirt of shades.

If you don't love the choice you have made, contact your designer within 30 days of installation, so we can work with you until you are satisfied.
