Which of your window treatment styles can be motorized?
Most of our treatments can be motorized, including shades, drapes, blinds, and shutters. We offer the only motorized interior shutters with concealed batteries currently on the market. We also offer motorized outdoor roller shades.
I'm building a new home. When should I get started on my window treatments?
It’s never too early to get started on your motorization/automation plans! Bring us your home plans before or during construction. We will provide a review to ensure that the most up-to-date wiring and shade placement is reflected in your home’s plan. We will coordinate with your builder, architect, and interior designer to customize the automated window treatments your new home deserves.

Yes. Drapery Street specializes in prewiring for motorized window treatments in new build projects. We can motorize any type of window treatment including drapes, shades, shutters, and blinds. By working alongside your construction team, Drapery Street will ensure all of your treatments are flawless by move-in day. We focus on the details such as:
-Correct pocket sizes for recessed treatments
-Wiring & outlets in the appropriate spots to completely hide electrical power
-Wire spaces with proper voltage to accommodate window treatment specifications
-Location of wall switches to operate motorized shades
-Integration with your home automation system of choice

Yes. You do not need to build a new home in order to automate your window treatments. We have motorization options that work in existing homes without needing to open up the walls for wires nor run wires down your window frames.

Our treatments can integrate with most home automation systems. Compatible systems include Google Assistant, Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Crestron®, Logitech®, Lutron, Control4®, Elan®, IFTTT, URC®, RTI, and Savant®.
Do I have to use a home automation or voice assistant to operate my power shades?
No. You can operate your shades with a remote control, wall switch, or with your mobile phone or tablet.
Do I have to automate every window treatment in my home?
No. You can automate all your window treatments, some of them, or even just one of them. Some people find that they only need to motorize one or two hard-to-reach windows in their home.
Can I program my shades to move on their own throughout the day?
Yes! Program your shades to open with the sunrise and close with the sunset or set them to adjust throughout the day, letting in the precise amount of light you prefer. Our install team will ensure you know how to program your shades and set custom scenes before leaving your home. And if you need help later, we are just a phone call away.
