Indianapolis-area interior designer Jill Huse is one of the best in the business, creating classic styles with a touch of whimsy. Jill has a talent for taking traditional shapes and patterns and adding modern elements to make a room fresh and current. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite projects we’ve worked on with Jill.
The best children’s rooms are the ones that can grow with the child. This little boy’s room is full of young charm, but will still feel appropriate five or ten years from now. For the windows, we seamed a striped fabric into the roman shade to create a window treatment that tied the various elements of the room together. The stripes keep the window seat from merely fading into the background.
The same thing is true for this beautiful girl’s room. The gorgeous feathered shade is feminine without being juvenile. The purple flower detail is the perfect accent. We love how the window treatments blend so well with the furnishings and the gorgeous light fixture.
This master bedroom has the feeling of luxurious relaxation. Can’t you just imagine curling up on that bed? We went with a simple, contrasting seamed drape in elegant linen for this setting. The drapes can be closed for privacy, or left open to let the light in. A simple roman shade accents the small bedside window. The mix of textures and dark and light tones keeps this neutral palate from becoming boring. Instead, the result is a calming beauty.
We absolutely love using shutters in a bathroom, and this is one of our favorite ways we’ve done it. The studded tub blends rustic and refined, and the white shutters provide privacy while still letting in some natural light. This space is truly a showstopper; it’s modern, unique, and incredibly stylish.
