One of our favorite things to do when we create window fashions is to take something basic and elevate it to a new level of beauty. There are many different ways of doing things, but a popular and stylish choice is seaming. More and more of our clients are choosing seamed drapes for their homes.
Seamed draperies are created by taking a drapery panel and seaming in another complimentary fabric of your choice. You can mix colors and prints to find something uniquely you. It’s the refined elegance of a drape, but you also have the opportunity to create something edgy or different. The options are endless, and our designers can help you pair fabrics that will create a lovely contrast.
Our Portland Seamed Drapes are free-spirited, but edgy. The drape shown above combines Citrus, Pewter, and Thyme sheer linen. The yellow of Citrus draws the eye up and adds just the right touch of brightness to the room. It’s easy to see why seamed drapes have become a modern standard.
More subtle colors also look great when combined through seaming. We love the seamed drapes in this room because they are just the right accent for the space. They look great from a distance, and when you examine them closer you see a beautiful Greek Key print seamed into the drape.
With so many options available, it can be hard to know where to start. Schedule a design consultation and we’ll help you find the right combination of fabrics for your home. You can learn more about Portland Seamed Drapes (and other great styles!) by requesting a copy of our 2015 catalog.
