Over the years, I’ve found that as the temperature drops and people spend more time indoors, they start getting an urge to redesign their space. Oftentimes our clients want a change but they’re not sure exactly what change to make. Thankfully, our designers do a great job of connecting with our clients and creating the perfect window design.
I recently picked some of my favorite winter design picks. These ideas could give you the ideas and inspiration you need to begin your next project!
Navy Blue
We’ve been seeing lots of navy blue in homes for over a year now, and this trend shows no signs of slowing down. We love how navy looks when paired with neon accents, and we also like how navy looks with a clean, bright white like the one shown above. The mix of patterns keeps the room fun and current!
Taupe
Taupe is a hot new neutral that we’re seeing in lots of designs. The grey/beige mix is a calm and serene choice that gives your room a refined look. This elegant taupe print, available in our store, is one of my favorites. We see this pattern adding beauty to a master bedroom, living room, or formal dining area.
Nailhead Trim
Another stylish trend (that looks great with taupe!) is nailhead trim. This metallic accent adds an edgy touch to more traditional styles. The pairing of hard and soft creates an unexpected and beautiful contrast.
Metallics
Nailhead trim is part of a greater trend we are seeing toward metallics. I love metallic drapes because they add a touch of elegance to your room. Combining metallics with nailhead trim and taupe or navy could create one beautiful drape!
Shutters
Our Hunter Douglas collection is full of sleek shutter styles that go beyond basic white rectangles. Shutters are showing up more and more in places we’re not used to seeing them, like in the bathroom shown above. Shutters over the tub look great, give you privacy, and assure that you won’t have fabrics or cords dangling in the tub!
Sheer Drapes
Sheer drapery panels are a great way to let the light in this winter, while still providing some coverage for your windows. These white sheer panels provide just the right touch in this dining area, and don’t compete with the artwork or metal light fixture. We have a wide array of sheer fabric panels for you to sample in our Carmel store.
Does more indoor time this fall have you ready to do something new in your home? Let me help you transform your space.
