2024 Wrap-Up: Erika’s Most Memorable Projects

As a senior designer with the top sales in 2024, Erika has had a busy year! We asked her what some of her most memorable projects were from the past year and here’s what she named.

Erika Drapery Street senior designer

Terre Haute Home

Erika headed over to Terre Haute, Indiana, to collaborate with Open Gate Design on window treatments for a new home. Along with the homeowner, they chose a variety of shades, draperies, and cornices for each room.

Each shade was motorized except for the garage shades, and most functioned top-down bottom-up to maximize both privacy and natural light. Even the dining room draperies were motorized for easy operation. Wall-mounted switches were installed for convenience. The treatments were programmed using Hunter Douglas PowerView Gateway, allowing the homeowner to set automated daily scenes.

Cornices and draperies were used in many rooms to add a pop of color and visual interest. Erika also collaborated with our Indianapolis workroom to create matching cushions and pillows in several rooms.

Custom Home in Holliday Farms

Erika collaborated with Chicago-based design firm Park & Oak Design to customize window treatments for this new construction home, built by G&G Custom Homes. When the client came to Drapery Street, she knew she wanted automated treatments but was concerned her options would be limited to roller shades. Erika showed her the many automation options available, and eventually, they settled on a mixture of draperies, Roman shades, and retractable outdoor screens. Installation is currently underway, putting the finishing touches on this stunning custom home.

Returning Client in Holliday Farms

There’s no better compliment than a returning customer. Erika helped this family select treatments for their bedrooms last year, and they returned in 2024 for phase two. Erika collaborated with their designer Jenny Hollander of Hollander Home Style to customize drapes and shades for their living room, dining room, entry, and laundry room as well as cushions for their banquette.

Two-story drapes were added to the entryway, providing privacy and light control for the glass front doors and adding to the impressive space’s grandeur. Fully functioning drapes were also added to the living room and a large arch window in the dining room. Finally, Erika designed a motorized laundry room shade that fully recesses into the woodwork when raised.

Geist Lake Home

Stephanie Wiott Designs was working on the interiors for a newly built home in Geist, built by Hoss Homes, and reached out to Erika for help on the window treatments. Located directly on the water, this home has fantastic views from nearly every room. Erika collaborated with Stephanie to customize window treatments that frame the views and provide light control and privacy when needed. They used a variety of window treatments — including drapes, Roman shades, and woven wood shades — to capture and elevate the vibes of each space.

The Condos at 1st on Main

1st on Main is a luxury community in the heart of Carmel’s Arts & Design District. Built by Lauth with design and finishes by Wedgewood, the building boasts high-end designer everything — fixtures, appliances, countertops, you name it! Erika collaborated with Wedgewood to design window treatments that would rise to the building’s luxury standards and help create an atmosphere of timeless elegance. With Erika’s guidance, they selected automated roller shades for each of the eight condos.
