We don’t mean to nag, but this is one huge home-building misstep we see way too often.
Waiting until after construction to plan window treatments can mean fewer options, missed opportunities, higher costs, and last-minute stress.
Starting the process as early as possible, ideally during the blueprint phase, gives you the most design freedom. Recessing your shades for a clean, seamless look requires coordinating with your architect or builder early to make sure pockets are sized right.
Thinking about automated treatments now or in the future? Pre-wiring needs to happen before outlets and drywall go in, and it’s critical to work with a pro to avoid common mistakes like wiring in the wrong spots, improper voltage for your treatment specifications, forgetting wall switches, or not coordinating the headboxes with the window trim.
